Description
Special cargo handling covers the controlled movement of industrial machinery and other heavy equipment that requires specialized lifting, positioning, securing, and transportation procedures. Each cargo movement is planned according to the equipment's physical configuration, lifting points, center of gravity, handling requirements, and transport method. Heavy or sensitive machinery can be prepared with protective wrapping, timber supports, lifting accessories, load-spreading arrangements, and suitable securing systems. During loading operations, cranes, spreader beams, lifting slings, chains, and other approved handling equipment may be used to position the cargo safely onto trailers, flat racks, platforms, or other transport units. The handling process also includes careful positioning and securing of the equipment before transportation. Components that require additional protection can be covered or supported to reduce exposure to impact, vibration, moisture, and movement during handling and transit. Special cargo operations can be coordinated across factory premises, logistics terminals, ports, and transport routes, allowing heavy industrial equipment to be moved through different stages of the logistics chain while maintaining controlled handling procedures.
